Washington, DC Auto Show Set for Grand Return, Planning in Full Swing

The first in-person Washington, DC Auto Show in almost two years is just around the corner and plans are rapidly moving forward for the ten-day show.  The 2022 DC Auto Show will open to consumers on Friday, January 21 and close on Sunday, January 30.  Prior to opening to the public, a full slate of activities is scheduled for Public Policy Day on Thursday, January 20.  Public Policy Day, sponsored by Cars.com, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and U.S. News & World Report, will include a media lunch and press announcements, a special three-hour MobilityTalks conference, and the Sneak Peek Preview Reception from 5:00 to 8:00 pm the night of the 20th.  The day will be highlighted by the announcement of the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Cars for the Money” Awards at 5:00 pm.

With the rise in connectivity and autonomous capabilities, the 2022 DC Auto Show will adapt once again to highlight mobility advancements in all forms of transportation.  Show visitors will be able to browse extensive displays of battery-powered vehicles, sustainable buses, and new forms of all-electric transportation in an all-new EV Pavilion, sponsored by Electrify America, the official electric vehicle charging provider of the Washington, DC Auto Show.  Consumers will also be able to participate in outdoor test drives on the streets of DC in an electric vehicle Ride & Drive, sponsored by EVsmart.

The show floor itself will feature exhibits from Acura, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Nissan, Stellantis, Subaru, Toyota, and much more, plus Art-of-Motion and an expanded exotic car display.

The auto show team at WANADA has been working behind the scenes, putting plans in place for another successful auto show.  Tickets are now on sale to the public and a robust consumer advertising campaign is set to hit the market in early January.  Most recently, voice-over tracks for television and radio were recorded at Clean Cuts Studios in Silver Spring.  The television campaign will include two 30-second and two 15-second television commercials in English and two 30-second television commercials in Spanish.

WANADA members won’t want to miss the WANADA Member Reception, always one of the highlights of the auto show.  The WANADA Member Reception at the 2022 Washington, DC Auto Show is scheduled for Thursday, January 27th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The WANADA membership will be notified via email once registration for the member reception is open.
