Second place team, Chief Course: 4-under,

Brown’s Arlington Nissan foursome of William Luzi, Oscar Morgenstern, Aaron Spicer and Peter Walsh.

Low Team Score, Valley Course: 6-under,

VOB Auto Sales team of David Church, Jed Tenhoeve, Bucky Lancaster and Scott Oliver.

Second place team, Valley Course: 5-under, DARCARS 355 Toyota foursome of Brandon Lim, Justin Lim, George Tippett and Dave White.

Members of winning teams on both courses received AMEX gift certificates of $100, while second place teams were awarded $75 gift certificates from the Indian Spring Pro Shop. All golfers received WANADA Open wind shirts.

Although no one won this yearês $10,000 Hole-in-One Contest, sponsored by Dent Wizard, the following winners claimed a variety of prizes:

Longest Drive (women): Diane Rexroad, Darcars Silver Spring Toyota.

Straightest Drive: Pete Holman, Sheehy Ford.

“Beat The Pro Contest

Sponsored by kindred-line member Bortie Twiford of B&R Associates and known in past years as the Beat Bortie Contest, golfers each paid $5 for a chance to Beat The Pro, in this case former Redskin Darryl Grant and his team, on designated holes. Those who did had their names dropped in the hopper and three names were drawn for a chance to win. All contestants were offered $100 to cash in their tickets and take a seat. None did. Then two were eliminated with subsequent draws, yielding the winner of the contest via process of elimination. The last man standing was Steve Cappolella of Hill & Sanders Ford who won a $1,000 gift certificate.

Dinner Prizes

In addition to the above prizes, the 2002 WANADA Open also offered attendees a chance to win eight dinner prizes. Winning tickets were drawn and prizes awarded to those in attendance. The prizes, in order of distribution were as follows:
