The Washington Post Support of WAS, Longstanding and Extensive
The Washington Post (TWP) and washingtonpost.com will again publish the official program and be online sponsors of The Washington Auto Show, Presenting Advanced Technologies, delivering the news of what to see and do at Washingtonês largest public show. TWP will also serve as a sponsor to the WAS Congressional Gala and Charity Preview, an annual VIP event that raises significant funds for important area charities.
A tier-one newspaper and a tier-one auto show are a perfect match, said George Doetsch, WAS chairman. We are delighted to continue our long-running partnership with The Washington Post, based as it is on our shared values of progress and corporate citizenship.
The Congressional Gala and Charity Preview, which will take place from 6:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 23, 2007 at the close of International Media Preview Day, will turn out Washingtonês elite federal policymakers, regulatory officials, auto industry executives, and business leaders for a private, VIP show preview while raising top dollars for vital Washington-centric charities.
The Washington Postês support truly helps to boost the profile of the Gala and raise awareness of our successful fund-raising tradition, said Tamara C. Darvish, Congressional Gala chairman and vice president of DARCARS. The Galaês six beneficiaries are: Adoptions Together, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area, Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County and Victimsê Rights Foundation.
