No MD Licensing for Overdue Taxes

As of July 1st, the Maryland Comptrollerês Office has refused to grant licenses to dealerships and their employees if their tax payments are delinquent, according to MNCTDA. All undisputed taxes and unemployment contributions must be paid to the state before the following licenses will be issued or renewed: Vehicle Dealer, AD & R, Scrap Processor, Title Service, Manufacturer, Distributor, Factory Branch, Vehicle and Salesman.

The Comptrollers Office will issue a license when a portion of the total amount due has been received and a payment plan is in place. Please advise your dealership employees as to this new rule when the tax man comes around.
