Chase Automotive Finance

An Array of Dealer Services

Robert Reeserês relationship with dealers goes way back. Thatês because before he entered the banking side of the business 15 years ago, he worked in a dealership. Reeser started his automotive career at Capital Datsun (long gone) and Bob Ted Datsun (now Fairfax Nissan) back in the days when Nissan still went by the name Datsun.

Today, as vice president of Chase Automotive Finance, Reeser says –What I enjoy the most about WANADA Kindred Membership is that all these folks I deal with have become good friends over the years. I think what makes our area unique is we have so many high profile dealers that are up there on the national scale, and that gives us a special perspective unlike any other part of the country. And itês been great watching our industry expand.

–Being in the Nationês Capital, we are a very important area, and thatês one of the reasons Chase supports a number of the endeavors WANADA comes up with like how we are changing the (Washington) auto show to make it a more prestigious, tier-one show like Detroit and New York,” he adds. –And I can see over the years how the association has grown and how we are starting to realize that we are the Nationês Capital and WANADA is a premier association.”

Chase Automotive Finance is by far the largest originator of auto loans for banks, with about 13,000 customers across the country. –We buy everything from prime to sub-prime loans which truly makes us full service,” says Reeser. –A lot of our competitors that are banks will buy sub-prime loans, but they form alliances with other companies to do it. We do everything, just like an automaker captive. All the loans we generate we do ourselves.”

Locally, Chase has an office in Towson, Maryland that does the sub-prime, and one in Fairfax, Virginia for prime loans. –Chase has a commitment to the regional markets it deals with, and that couldnêt be more true of Washington,” says Reeser. –We offer services to dealers like credit, floor plans, real estate finance, a credit card division, and merchant card services. What we really strive for is a complete financial relationship with the dealer evidenced by a complete array of services.”
