Two New Custom Plates Available to D.C. Drivers

As of late June 2019, two new license plate designs are available for District of Columbia drivers – a breast cancer awareness plate supporting the city’s Community Health Care Financing Fund,  and a Donate Life tag (similar to ones already in circulation in Virginia and Maryland), with proceeds going to the Washington Regional Transplant Community.

The Donate Life tag costs $100 for new drivers, while the breast cancer awareness plate costs $70 initially (consisting of a $25 application fee and a $45 initiation cost), plus a $20 annual display fee. Dealers are encouraged to contact the DC DMV with any questions they might have about offering any of the District’s organization vehicle tags, of which there are more than 30.
