The most satisfied owners bought Cadillac and – ready? – Buick

In AutoPacifics latest Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, Cadillac is the top premium brand and Buick the top popular brand. The study asks owners to rate 51 attributes for their importance in the purchase decision and satisfaction after the purchase.

More than one-third of new-vehicle buyers are positively influenced by objective awards based on owner ratings when deciding on a new car or truck, says George Peterson, president of AutoPacific.

The survey rates owner satisfaction in 11 categories each of cars and light trucks. This years awards are more diverse than in previous years, with no single manufacturer dominating the results. Toyota and General Motors each has four best-in-class winners, Chrysler has three, and Kia, Hyundai, Nissan and Ford each has two. The most improved brands from last year are Infiniti and Land Rover. Scion dropped 10 positions and Ford dropped eight.
