NADA Board elects David Westcott of North Carolina as 2013 chairman

The National Automobile Dealers Association’s board of directors has elected David Westcott to be the group’s chairman in 2013. It also elected Forrest McConnell, III to be NADA’s 2013 vice chairman.

Westcott is president of David Westcott Automotive with Buick, GMC and Suzuki franchises in Burlington, N.C. He is the 2012 NADA vice chairman and NADA director from North Carolina. He has been a dealer since 1981.

McConnell is president of McConnell Honda and Acura in Montgomery, Ala. He is the 2012 chairman of NADA’s Industry Relations Committee. The NADA vice chairman is traditionally elected chairman for the following year, so McConnell is positioned to become NADA chairman in 2014.

Nominated for secretary of NADA next year will be Jeff Carlson, a Ford-Lincoln and Subaru dealer in Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Gary Reynolds, a Subaru dealer in Lyme, Conn. who will face off in an election.

George Nahas, a Chevrolet dealer in Wildwood, Fla. was nominated for a second term as NADAs treasurer.

NADA’s Board will hold elections at its fall meeting in October, where Westcott and McConnell will run unopposed.
