Barbara Pomerance recognized for 30 plus years handling WANADA PR

WANADA CEO John O’Donnell kept the Annual Meeting on course, recognizing the distinguished group at the head table representing NADA, MADA, VADA, the Better Business Bureau Washington Region, AIADA, and WANADA’s Executive Committee.


O’Donnell also took time to recognize Barbara Pomerance, who for more than 30 years guided WANADA’s public relations for Washington area dealers no less than the communications for the Washington Auto Show, where she had a major part in increasing the show’s national and international prominence. “Barbara played a key role in the show’s current success as a tier one event on the industry’s global auto show circuit, O’Donnell said.


“For more than three decades, Barbara has counseled  WANADA’s leadership on achieving positive public relations for Washington area new auto dealers and in doing so has shown WANADA members and their organization to be the pillars of the community that they truly are as reliable retailers of motor vehicles,” he said.


Pomerance recalled many milestones and firsts in her work on the Washington Auto Show, including visits to the show by President Obama and later by Vice President Joe Biden and his family.


“We have accomplished many achievements together – with political outreach – taking the mayor and DC City Council members to the major European auto shows that caused them to recognize the importance of the Washington Auto Show to the city; and succeeding in getting Washington’s Auto Show OICA certified in the industry; national and global meetings with OEM’s, instituting a media train from New York to DC with our partner, the Washington Automotive Press Association (WAPA),” said Pomerance.


O’Donnell presented her with a crystal memento with the inscription, “In sincere appreciation for the many years of dedication and invaluable service to WANADA and its membership.”
