Auto Show credentials, tickets and official event schedule sent to members earlier this month
With show time happening next week on the 2015 Washington Auto Show the Show Committee wants to take care that all members have what they need to fully participate. As noted above, Industry/Media Days will occur Jan. 21-22 preparatory to the show opening to the public on Friday, Jan. 23, running through the following weekend, Feb. 1.
The Auto Show Chairman memo from Kevin Reilly went to Dealers and Kindred-Line members of WANADA the week of Jan. 6, covering complimentary passes (for good customers and business associates) along with VIP passes that admit the bearer and up to three others on a one time basis. Additionally, instructions were included for registering dealer sales representatives working at the show, along with the form that sales-reps must complete for the District of Columbia licensing agents. Events on Wed. Jan 21 are the Made Across America Program where drivers of new vehicles of all kind and variety will converge on Washington for a press conference at the foot of the U.S. Capitol, to be followed by a CARtalks symposium, sponsored by MEMA, in the Cannon House Office Building from 1:30-3:30 pm. Thurs., Jan 23 on site at The Convention Center is Industry/Media Day where the industry keynoter will be Johan de Nysschen, president of Cadillac, and the U.S. keynoter will be Ernest Moniz, Secretary of Energy. The SAE Government Industry Conference opens in the afternoon. The Sneak Peek Preview Reception wraps up the day for notables from the Obama administration, the regulatory agencies and Congress. The Sneak Peek is from 5:00 8:00 p.m.
On site at the Auto Show, Jan. 28, WANADA will host its membership at an exclusive reception. At that time, WANADA will honor its Time Dealer of the Year, Charles Stringfellow of Brown Automotive Group, and the Northwood University Dealer Education Awardee, Jim OConnell of Jim Koons Automotive Companies. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Convention Center in Room 103AB. Tickets are $50/person.
