Harold Redden receives Northwood Dealer
Education Award |
Harold C. Redden of Fitzgerald Auto Malls was recognized with
the Northwood Dealer Education Award for his significant contributions to
the WANADA-sponsored Montgomery Technologies Foundation (ACT).
Harold C. Redden is a product of automotive technology education. He got his start in
the automobile business at age sixteen as a lot attendant for the Fitzgerald
Auto Malls where he now operates as a Vice President. During his ascent up
the ladder, he became an ASE certified technician, a service manager and a
general manager for the fifteen franchise chain store operation.
Recognizing the moral imperative of "giving as good as you got," Mr. Redden,
with other community volunteers, for several years has administered the
vocational training curriculum of the Montgomery County Students' Automotive
Trades Foundation. The way the Montgomery Mini dealership works is pursuant
to state licensing as a used car retail outlet where students acquire,
recondition and sell vehicles in a business environment. Graduates of the
program, trained primarily in auto technology and body repairs under the
auspices of the county public schools, go on to become apprentices in
dealerships and other repair facilities.
Mr. Redden himself is a graduate of the Montgomery County School System
which makes the program more meaningful. He served on the Foundation Board
before taking over as Chairman. He has been instrumental in the Fitzgerald
organization's award winning program designed to demonstrate the vital
importance of correctly installing child safety seats.
Northwood University presents the Dealer Education Award to Harold C. Redden
for his career commitment to automotive education.
